College, second half of week...Effing Surrealism.

Sun Aug 27, 2006, 3:34 PM
Wow, sorry it's taken so long for the 3rd installment. I'll be making these weekly from now on, but I'll guide you through what I can recall from my week.

Monday: Oh god, there was so much time spent in class. It's not easy sitting in place 5 hours a day. >__< Then doing homework for two more... Also, I went down to the Kilptatick Althlectic Center, henceforth refered to as KAC, and basicly decided to join the Soccor team. Mainly becuase they're the libreal "no cuts, everybody plays" kind of sucky team, but also becuase there isn't very much in the way of Non-team soccor. Considering I'm just taking up the sport now... Also, after that, the freshmen class met Kwame Anthany Appiah, a philosopher and writer from Ghana. He's....interesting, to say the least. It would take a very long time to describe everything we had to do about him, and why.

Tuesday: Not much to say here, really. Just that there was a Pizza Party in the student Union, More homework, oh and...The most horrifyingly funny Sex and Drugs presentation I've seen. There were some fairly serious Skits, but there were alot more that incuded hip gyrations, R Kelly Music, and a demonstration on using a dental dam. I didn't even know such a thing existed....I'm just happy they cut the one where they all pretend to masterbate.

Wensday: I don't really remember much about this day. Oh, well, I went up to Simon's Rock's rock. It's big, and good for sitting on. Then we went over to the Upper Campus, which is actually really nice, at least out side of the buildings. I have yet to been in any of the Dormatories outside of the Tridorms, which are mostly freshmen. I really should get over to Hill House Some time. It's not that far. Besides that, the only place I havn't been to on campus is the lake, where all the skinny dipping is. <____< That night, I played dodgeball in KAC with a bunch of people, and Halo in the Fisher Science Center with a few students and a teacher. Oh, and I think I'm going to run for a spot on the Community Council, which does a bunch of stuff for student life, and has weekly meetings.

Thursday: Now here is where my memory really picks up. Thursday was the last day of this really tiring Workshop week. first thing is that we had NO homework from then till now, which is awsome. *breathes out* For some reason, the teacher wanted us to watch a surrealist movie. Meshes of an Afternoon. Oy. I can sum it up with this qoute, " Well, If the flower equaled her virginity, what did the knife equal?" After that, Well, besides my roomates getting his first wave of really big of hickeys, we had to read a plolished peice of writing with another workshop. I was lucky enough to get it with my future First year Seminar Teacher, Mark Vecchio. He read the most incredibly funny peice of prose I've ever heard. I'm really looking forward to that class. Speaking of which, I need to find my schedule... Also in the workshop was my roomate's Girlfriend/fuckbuddy, Alica, whom I feel kinda bad for calling her that, becuase she's actually really nice, much more then I expected, actually. Still I need to say it when they spend that night making out in a sleeping back with a dozen other people under the moonlight. Finally, there was Open Mic night. Most of the acts were pretty...meh, although there were a few ones that were pretty damn good. The best one bny far was Mathias, who gave a few songs on the guitar. My eyes actually watered and I nearly cried as he played "Since you've been gone." ...*cough*

Friday: Ok, besides the fact that I woke up a little late, that morning was pretty interesting. I learned how I was going to go about managing my acidemic schedule at the Acidemic Overview, and learned a bit about their study abroad Program. Most interesting though was the news that they were working on a program with Oxford's Lincon College. Basicly, starting next year, 2-3 Juniors would be nominated by Simon's Rock to go to England and study in Oxford for a year. There are many reasons, some of which you know, some of which you don't, but....I want this. A lot. I need a 3.7 GPA to even be looked at. Hmm....Persist.... *chuckles to himself, then moves on* After that, we all went MUDSLIDING. It was the most fun I had in a while, although I may have ruined a pair of pants. <_< I'm lucky I made it out without injury, actually. Then again, my neck has been rather sore, lately. Oh well, it was worth it.

Saturday and Sunday: Free time, baby, yeah! I missed a trip to albany on Saturday, partially becuase I overslept, and partially becuase I didn't know there was one. Besides that, I've played alot of Giuld Wars: Factions, which my roomate lent me, not nearly enough Chrono Cross, alot of streaming video of Stargate SG1, and and hour of Naruto, which I watched with a tap dancing liberal Nazi. (it's springtime, for hitler, and germany....) I also got Monty Python and the Holy grail and Star Wars the Phantom Menance from the Library, for some fun stuff to watch. Oh, that reminds me. they have all 6 DVDs of EVANGELION! I nearly squeeled like a schoolgirl when I saw that. I must watch them. I don't care if I've seen most of that series 3 times over, I must!

Let's see.....Well, besides that and playing a bit of Super Smash brothers, that's about it. Now I'm tired, so I'm going to end this aburptly. I spent a good deal of time writing this, so please comment if you read it. See you again in a week.
